Class Project Tea Leaves; group members: Rachel, Nikoli,Jin

For our in class project we chose to observe the differences in tea leaves. Instead of focusing on the physical appearance of our items, we decided to shoot a short video of the tea leaves being soaked in hot water and their motion of sinking and rising in completely different ways. This simple motion illustrates the deeply imbedded differences in common mundane subjects that cannot be perceived by the naked eye. It led us to think about other such differences, such as what the same tea means in different cultures, and conversations or people that will vary for every leaf. As designers it is vital to observe and notice things that are not apparent at first sight but is significant on a deeper level, for it will help to create and mature our visions in our own endeavors.
